Arcot Sri Mahalakshmi Women’s College of Education was established in the year 2005. It is one of the leading teacher education institutions. Our college has got the recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education and affiliation from Tamilnadu Teachers Education University ,Chennai 600005. Our college has got the prestigious status of “B” Grade Accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The college has been offering B.Ed. and M.Ed. degree courses on self financing mode from December 2005 and August 2009 respectively. At present it is functioning with 2 units of B.Ed. i.e having 100 student teachers and 1 unit of M.Ed. with 50 scholars. We started B.Sc.B.Ed. 4 Years Integrated Course from May 2017. B.Sc. B. Ed. is a four-year integrated undergraduate programme offering a dual degree. The programme was started with a vision to impart in-depth knowledge of different subjects including Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany and Zoology with three broad interrelated curricular areas. The institution provides skill-based quality education to a large section of underprivileged students. The institution considers its primary duty to remain accessible to down-trodden women students. Thus, while the institution serves the marginalized society, especially the rural women students, the institutions faithfully serve the upliftment of the villages around the large institution in complete earnestness.
